    USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) is a technology used to send information (usually text menus) between a mobile phone and an application on a network. USSD will allow you to request information in short codes (starting with * and ending with # e.g. *123#), or menus from a network via your cellphone. A USSD code can be used in mobile banking where it can be integrated with M-PESA and the core banking system.
